my own customised recipe...

for those who want to learn how to make a great tiramisu..guys who want to impress your potential gal or girlfriend here's my version..after countless failures ..

Mine can serve 6 proportions

- 8 tablespoons rum
- 4 tablespoons brandy (I've tried volka, gin , red wine, tiger beer, carlsberg..etc but brandy still the best.. )
- tablespoons strong black coffee ...personally fav. is mocha powder
- 15-18 mini sponge fingers ...It is a very small biscuit, hardly a mouthful, with as soft a texture as the traditional sponge finger.
- 400g of Mascarpone ...a triple-creme cheese, made from a generally low-fat (25%) content fresh cream. It's made from the milk of cows that have been fed special grasses filled with fresh herbs and flowers..believe it or not!
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons icing sugar
- 150ml of double cream ...those on diet or health conscious ones could use half cream or whipping cream:)
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- crushed Chocolate Flake ...a few spoonful will do.

All of the above can be brought easily at cold storage or any reputable marts

Directions

1) Mix together half the rum, the brandy and coffee. Arrange the sponge fingers at the bottom of a shallow plate/dish and pour the liquid evenly over them.

2)Mix together the Mascarpone, egg yolks, remaining rum and the icing sugar --> cheese mixture..very important to mix well!!

3)Whip the egg whites and gently mix with the cheese mixture. Spoon over the soaked sponge fingers biscuits and place in the fridge for 2.5 hours before serving.

4)whisk the cream and spread over the end product. Dust with cocoa and sprinkle with the crushed Flake.

5) Ready for serving!!

So you see, no frills in making Tiramisu..but it takes trials to get the right mix and for guys out there..if you do it right, you will blow the minds out of your girlfriends! guarantee they will hunger for more...and you:P
