Its OVER....

The world cup is finally over.... and what's left in me is a tinge of sadness. The france team, which have given us supporters so much hope and the message they have transmitted that age is not an obstacle ..have failed to deliver their promise. The 2006 world cup winner is rightfully theirs and was within reach but tragedy strucks .. not once but twice. I would have thought they are linked .

I have utmost respect for Zidane but the behavior in the last dying mins of extra time shock me! Why would someone butt his head against his opponent is something which I have beeen thinking the past 24 hours till now.... is it cos of something materazzi said? or was zidane trying to make a history out of this match by doing something that is utterly unexpected and perhaps..foolish? Well..its his last world cup anyway ...this is something that we will always remember down the football history. Maybe cos of this Trezegate miss his penalty shoot...well what's done is done. He did not look confident at all when he took the shot.. could be due to zidane absence.

I doubt that France will have a good chance in the next world cup or Euro cup as this is probably the best team they could have since France 98. Many players will be going into retirement after this and we have not seen many potential young france players besides Frank Ribery...

I would really like to hear from the great Zenedine Zidane why did this happen. He was so close to being a hero again ... It is so unfair to the millions of fans and supporters esp the french people who are ready to party on the streets that night. You bring hope to us and you crush it in the next moment. ....why why why???

Kudos to the italians ...though they don't play nice football ..catenaccio actually...( in English it means playing defensively in numbers which is quite boring to watch...Singlish means kiasi)
They are very well organised and calm during the match...they did not sustain any red cards which I have find it very strange ...the italians are known for their disciplinary problems in the field. They can really hold their heads high now and won the world cup after 16 years of waiting.
Basically they are a rather young team and I anticipate that they will also do well in Euro 2008.

Its goodbye to delifrance and hello to italian pizzas for me! haha..
